Description This seminar will provide you with a comprehensive orientation to all the elements of a house. The purpose of the program is to illustrate the style, structure, envelope, interior, and mechanical systems components of single-family housing. This seminar will give you insight, vocabulary, and confidence to inspect, describe, and critique a residential property. You will be more accurate, efficient, and persuasive in the way you inspect, describe, and evaluate residential construction. You will also improve your skills in identifying the style, quality, and condition of a house.

After completing this seminar, you will be able to:
  • Understand essential elements of past and current residential building construction that should be addressed in an insightful building description.

  • Use correct terminology to describe the physical and functional condition of a building and its depreciable components.

  • Explore the creative art of physical building inspection by identifying surface clues that reveal systemic defects of a house
